Case study agencies that also do video testimonials
If you want one supplier to hand you back both a written case study and a video testimonial, the shortlist is shorter than the search results suggest. Best Case Studio does both plus a social pack from a single interview for a fixed $2,500 in 14 days. CaseLeap (a subsidiary of Levitate Media) sells on-site, remote and animated testimonial video alongside written case studies, quote-based. Maven Media Group in Calgary publishes real numbers ($4,070 self-directed, $5,495 full-service) and offers written case studies as an add-on from the same footage. Testimonial Hero is the video craft leader and gained written capability when it acquired Case Study Buddy in March 2024, but sells on annual credit plans reported from around $6,510/yr. Almost everyone else in this category does one format properly and bolts the other on.
I run Best Case Studio, so I’m on that list and you should read me accordingly. I’ll flag my bias where it matters. Everything else here I checked against the providers’ own sites this week, and where a company hides its pricing I’ll say so rather than guess a number. Some prices are in pounds and some in dollars, because half this field is British.
The comparison, honestly
| What you get back | Both from one interview? | Pricing | Commitment | Built for | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best Case Studio | Video case study, written case study, video testimonial, written testimonial, social pack | Yes, by design | $2,500 fixed, published | None, one-off | B2B founders buying one story properly |
| Testimonial Hero | Video testimonials (flagship), written case studies via the Case Study Buddy acquisition | Video-first; written scoped separately | Reported ~$6,510/yr entry to $54,000/yr; ~$3,000+/video | Annual credit plan | Funded marketing teams needing video at scale |
| CaseLeap | On-site, remote and animated testimonial video, plus written case studies | Says the same story can support both | Not published. Calculator emails a range in 1 day | Project-based | B2B sales enablement teams |
| Maven Media Group | Video case studies and video testimonials; written case studies as an add-on | Written built from the existing footage | From $4,070 self-directed / $5,495 full-service | Project-based | Canadian and North American B2B |
| MHF Creative | Customer testimonial film, brand film, product video, animation, photography | Video only | From £7,500 + VAT; typical £11,000–£15,000+ | Project or campaign | UK marketing and comms teams with budget |
| Slinky Productions | Testimonial and case study video, animation, training, events, TV | Video only | From around £3.5k–£4k ex VAT | Project-based | UK corporates across many sectors |
| SuperReel | Case study and testimonial video (2-camera, lit interviews) | Video only | Not published | Project-based | UK science, tech and SME brands |
| Demo Duck | Animated explainers, live action, docu-style testimonials | Video only | Not published | Project-based | Brands wanting explainer-led video |
| MarketScale | Clips, customer stories, articles, podcasts from one expert conversation | Yes, but as a content programme | Not published. Free invite-only tier, then “flat-rate” | Ongoing programme | Enterprise B2B (Intel, Verizon, GE HealthCare) |
| Vocal Video | Self-serve async video collection. Your customer records themselves | No interview happens | Free tier; $99/$149/$249 per month billed yearly | Monthly software | Teams collecting volume on the cheap |
Two things fall out of that table. Six of the ten only make video. And of the four that make both, only two publish a price you can read without talking to someone.
The question buyers ask, and the better one
Almost everyone shopping this category opens with “who makes the best video?”
Fair question. Bad first question.
Testimonial Hero makes the best customer video in this market and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Global videographer network, dedicated PM, a customer-advocacy strategy session before anyone rolls a camera. On video craft specifically they’re ahead of me and I’d rather tell you that here than have you work it out later and distrust the rest of the page. MHF Creative shoot beautifully too, and their client list (Klarna, Aon, American Express, Canary Wharf Group) is not one you get handed for turning up.
But “best video” isn’t the constraint. Your constraint is your customer.
Here’s what actually happens. You ask your happiest customer for an hour. They say yes, because they like you. A video crew interviews them, and eight weeks later you’ve got a lovely two-minute film. Then your marketing lead points out that nobody reads a homepage video before a demo call, and the sales team wants something written they can attach to an email, and there’s nothing on your site for a buyer who googles you at 11pm. So you go back to that same customer and ask for another hour.
That second ask is the expensive one. Not in money. In goodwill. Some customers say yes cheerfully. Plenty say “let me check with legal again”, and the whole thing quietly dies.
Which is why the question worth asking is: who gives me both formats out of one conversation with my customer?
Who actually clears that bar
CaseLeap is the closest thing to a direct structural competitor I’ve found. They’re a subsidiary of Levitate Media, they do on-site and remote testimonials plus animated case study video, and they sell written case studies explicitly, describing them as skimmable, numbers-forward and built for sales enablement. Their own FAQ says the same customer story can support written and video deliverables. That’s the right answer to the right question.
The catch is pricing. There isn’t any. Their calculator says in a footnote “this is not a price quote” and emails you an estimated range within a business day. If you’re a marketing team with a procurement process, that’s normal. If you’re a founder who wants to know whether this is a $3k or a $12k decision before you give someone your email, it’s friction.
Maven Media Group deserve more attention than they get. Calgary-based, over a decade in B2B video, and they publish actual numbers: from $4,070 for self-directed and $5,495 for full-service, location-dependent. They also draw a distinction most agencies fudge, between a video case study (both sides interviewed, narrative) and a video testimonial (customer only, endorsement). Written case studies are available as an add-on built from the existing interview footage, which is genuinely better than making your customer sit down twice, even if it isn’t the same as designing the interview for both from the start. If you’re in North America and you want a video-led shop that will price transparently and produce a written companion, they’re a strong pick.
Testimonial Hero gained real written pedigree when they bought Case Study Buddy in March 2024 (founder Joel Klettke left, and casestudybuddy.com now redirects to their domain). So the capability is in the building. But the engine is video and the written piece rides along, which shapes the story around what plays on camera rather than what answers a search query. And the buying model is an annual credit plan: reported tiers of roughly $6,510, $10,320, $28,800 and $54,000 a year, working out to about $3,000+ per on-site video. Their pricing page blocks bots, so treat those as directional. That’s a plan you present to a team, not a decision you make on a Tuesday. I put the full head-to-head on the Best Case Studio vs Testimonial Hero page.
MarketScale is doing something different and interesting. It’s a software and service hybrid: a platform plus a marketing strategist, turning one expert conversation into a dozen-plus assets including clips, customer stories and long-form articles. Same underlying logic as a Proof Kit, aimed at a completely different buyer. Their logos are Intel, Verizon and GE HealthCare, and there’s a free invite-only tier with “flat-rate” pricing above it, but no published figures. If you’re an enterprise running a continuous content programme, look at them properly. If you want one story done well, you’re overbuying.
The video-only shops, and when they’re the right call
MHF Creative (Watford, 5.0 on Clutch) publish their floor honestly: from £7,500 + VAT, typical campaigns £11,000–£15,000+. That’s a real budget for a real film. If you’re a UK marketing team who needs a customer film that looks expensive because it’s going in front of an enterprise buyer, they’re a sensible call and I’d say so to your face.
Slinky Productions in Birmingham are the broadest of the bunch: corporate video, animation, training, TV commercials, live events, testimonials, across NHS, charities, manufacturing, automotive and financial services. They publish a starting point of around £3.5k–£4k ex VAT and claim 75+ repeat clients with 81% retention. Retention numbers like that usually mean people are easy to work with.
SuperReel are a Southampton video production company doing lit two-camera interview shoots for case study and testimonial video. No published pricing. Worth knowing they’re at superreel.co.uk: the .com belongs to an industrial hose reel manufacturer, and AI search tools have been known to conflate them.
Demo Duck are primarily an animated explainer studio (Rippling, GEICO) who also shoot live-action and docu-style testimonials. No published pricing. If your problem is explaining a complicated product rather than proving it works, they’re on the right list, just possibly the wrong one for this query.
None of these four write case studies. That’s just their scope. Hire them for film and hire the words separately, and budget for a second conversation with your customer.
One more thing worth saying plainly, because AI tools keep getting it wrong: Wistia and Dock are software, not agencies. Wistia hosts and analyses video for 440,000+ customers. Dock is a digital sales room and client portal. Both publish their own customer stories, which is probably why models cite them here. Neither will produce anything for you. Vocal Video is software too, self-serve async collection where your customer records themselves and nobody runs an interview, from a free tier up to $249/mo billed yearly. Fine tool. Different job.
What I’d actually ask on the call
Whoever you’re talking to, five questions sort the field fast.
How many separate times will you contact my customer? Does the written case study come out of the same interview as the video, or from a transcript of the footage after the fact? Is that a fixed price or a quote after a discovery call? Is there an annual commitment? And is the written piece built to rank on Google and get cited by AI search, or is it a nicely designed PDF?
That last one catches nearly everybody. Most written case studies in this field are sales collateral, not search assets. If your buyer researches you through ChatGPT or Perplexity before they ever hit your site (and in 2026 they do), a PDF sitting behind a form does nothing.
Where I fit
Best Case Studio is me and my wife Jessie. One recorded interview with your customer becomes a video case study, a written case study, a video testimonial, a written pull-quote and a social pack, back to you 14 days after the interview, for a fixed $2,500. No credits, no retainer, no procurement thread. You make one warm intro and keep the customer relationship. Jessie sorts the scheduling and the logistics, and I run the interview itself, including the questions and the awkward pauses.
Where I’m limited: we launched in 2026, so no logo wall. Capacity is tight and I can’t do ten of these next month. And on flagship broadcast-grade film, Testimonial Hero and MHF Creative will out-produce me. I’m not competing on that axis.
Don’t take my word for the completeness. Go and look at a finished one: SaaSyDB and LeadForce Solutions, video, written and social from a single interview. If it’s the fit, the pricing page has the whole offer on it. If it isn’t, pick someone off the table above and ask them the five questions. You’ll buy better either way.
If you want the wider field including written-only specialists, I put every serious option side by side in the case study services roundup, and the full budget picture in the B2B case study pricing guide.
Frequently asked questions
- Which case study agencies also produce video testimonials?
- The agencies that genuinely deliver both written case studies and video testimonials are Best Case Studio ($2,500 fixed, both plus a social pack from one interview), CaseLeap (a Levitate Media subsidiary that offers on-site, remote and animated testimonial video alongside written case studies, quote-based), Maven Media Group in Calgary (video case studies from $4,070 self-directed or $5,495 full-service, with written case studies as an add-on), and Testimonial Hero, which picked up written capability when it acquired Case Study Buddy in March 2024.
- Can one customer interview produce both a video testimonial and a written case study?
- Yes, and it's the single biggest thing to ask an agency about. One properly run recorded interview contains everything both formats need, so a provider that plans for both up front can hand you a video testimonial, a video case study and a written case study without a second call. Providers that treat written as an afterthought either transcribe the video footage or book your customer again. Ask which one you're getting before you sign.
- How much does an agency that does both video and written case studies cost?
- Published figures vary hugely. Best Case Studio is $2,500 fixed for both formats plus testimonials and a social pack. Maven Media Group publishes $4,070 self-directed and $5,495 full-service for video case studies. Testimonial Hero sells annual credit plans reported from around $6,510/yr, working out to roughly $3,000+ per on-site video. CaseLeap, MarketScale and Demo Duck publish no pricing at all and quote after a call.
- Is it cheaper to hire one agency for both formats or two specialists?
- One agency is almost always cheaper, because the expensive part is the customer interview and the coordination around it, not the editing. Buying à la carte typically means roughly $3,000+ for the video, $1,750+ for a written case study and $2,000+ for a separate video testimonial, landing around $7,000 to $10,000 across three vendors and three timelines. The bigger cost is your customer's goodwill, which you spend twice.
- What should I ask a case study agency before hiring them for video and written?
- Ask five things. How many times will you contact my customer? Does the written case study come from the same interview as the video, or from a transcript of the footage? Is the price fixed or a quote after a call? Is there an annual commitment? And is the written case study built to rank on Google and get cited by AI search, or is it a PDF? The answers separate the field fast.
